hy guys im a new member,i need to aske why nothing on dire straits ,
thanks john
It's likely due to licensing issues. Some Dire Straits would be nice though. I believe there is an area for song requests on GT.
Yea![br]I think that Mark Knopfler is a genius musician. And I would like to learn some of his songs and riff too
Don't know your skill levels. Try these & see how you go guys. Be forewarned, Knopfler's technique is challenging. Not for beginners.
Money for Nothing rhythm tute
Sultans of Swing demo. Part 1 (rhythm) Part 2 (solos).
Sultans of swing is not that hard to play for an intermediate player as long as you play it with your thumb and index like Mark, the difficulty I always had with it was to remember which fill came where in the song so I started to make donkey bridges between the lyrics and the fills, with other words connecting a fill with a word in the lyrics and it is a very long song.

Thanks a lot![br]I think i'm something like "pre-intermediate" level. I do not have any troubles with chords or rhythm. I begun to play scales and basic riffs. But i really hard to play a real songs riffs.[br]It would be helpfull to me in feature, if there are still no Dire Straits tutorials on the platform.
Justin also does a pretty good lesson on Sultans.
Agree..it's actually a really good intermediate song to get stuck into and even if you don't nail Knopflers technique, the licks alone are a great workout. hopefully will see something here soon...he's far too good to be overlooked on a guitar website.
We love song suggestions! You can always request a song here:
