Hi;

I just started. My fingers hurt during practice. It isn't so bad but how long does it take for calluses to form. I practice about a half hour a day.

Thanks;

Charlie

Thank you for the tips. I particularly like the paper clip. I don't want to play till my fingers bled. I remembered that song too. It sounds like a bad idea. A lot fo sites including Guitartricks.com recommend apple cider viniger. I practice as long as I can till it really starts to hurt. Right now that is about a half hour a day. Thanks again.

Been a long while since I felt any fingertip pain. From memory, if you're playing about 30 minutes consistently every day, you should have calluses starting to form within two to three weeks.

Application of apple cider vinegar works. Don't know or care why. It will accelerate the tip toughening process and reduce the local soreness.
