I'm doing something wrong. I'm learning ode to joy, and my strings sounds twangy, they dull out, and there is a strange reverb coming from my strings, when I transisition from 3rd fret to 1st or B to E string. When I apply really good pressure I get good tone, but I cant transisition, please help!

It sounds like it may be an issue with the guitar. If you haven't done so already, I recommend re-stringing your guitar. Even if you bought a new or used guitar from a store, it's no guessing how long those strings have been on the instrument. Re-string the guitar might help with the dull sound.
The twangy-ness and the strange reverb might be from rattling of the strings. It's possible the string action is a bit too low. You may want to adjust the string height.
What kind of guitar do you have? Acoustic or electric?

It's an acoustic Epiphone. My guess is, it's not in good condition. I would most likely get a new beginners guitar instead of fixing this one, but your feedback has definitely answered my question. Guitar store here I come woohoo!
