Ya know, judging from that clip, everything was over-dubbed. Steve Vai may not have been doing that when playing the actual music for the film.

yeah but he does do it live in a lot of songs.

Hey, just curious, when were you at GIT? I went 1993-1994

I went to G.I.T 94-95 Nick Nolan was my private instructor.

I lived on Hollywood BLVD and El Cerrito between LeBrea and orange between the BLVD and Frankilin.
I started learning guitar because of Randy Rhoads..but Yngwie J. Malmsteen is my biggest influence.

Hey I just wana ask a about a different steve vai technique. In nearly all of his tapping solos he plays this amazing looping appregio type thing, he plays it on letterman show part 2 picking, and in G3 tapping. If anyone knows what he is doing please share it with me, as I REALLY wana know this

thanks

I lived on Sycamore Ave one block West of Orange Ave, and two blocks west of Mann's. I used to see Vai at Gold's Gym when I worked out there, I also had the fortune of taking a leak next to Steve Lukather at the Whiskey one night !!!

My Private Instructor was Dave Hill. Although Ross Bolton was my Favorite teacher. You may remember a guy that worked at GIT named Chad Parrot, he was a close friend of mine.

The school is entirely different now, from what I hear, The programs we attended are gone and now it's mostly a degree program ala Berkelee, of course this is what I've heard , I don't know how true it is. Apparently Pat Hicks had a nasty divorce from his wife (who owned 49% of MI) and she sold her interest to a Japanese corporation, since then things changed, many of the faculty left, from what I understand.

Remember when the Diamond club used to exists? I drank a beer with Jeff "The Skunk" Baxter and played a game of pool with him. (I lost).

I used to goto the Rainbow a lot on Fridays. Man I met lot's of people there like Slash, Lemmy, and diamond Dave to name a few.
