Hi there. I'm just starting out playing guitar and I'm having some trouble with this chord. I can't get a consistent sound out of it, in the sense that sometimes I hear plucking noises from the fretted B string. Any advice on having a consistent fretting technique ? Does my index finger need to be bent all the way on the string or can it be positioned in a different fasion ? Sorry for my bad english.

Hi stefan,

When strumming a chord, it should sound smooth and each string should be ringing out.

What do you mean you're hearing a "plucking noise?"

And like with any chord, it's important to have your fingers sticking straight off the fretboard as you're holding the string.

You may want to take a look at Lisa's lesson on the C major chord for a refresher: https://www.guitartricks.com/lesson.php?input=22952&s_id=1868
