I am a beginner to learning guitar and have been doing the Fundamentals-1 course. I do not have an acoustic guitar, but an electric guitar since I want to play the electric guitar once I build up my basic skills. Is it fine to use the electric guitar for the Fundamentals Courses.

Thanks in advance for any help

Yes. For fundamentals lessons material it really doesn't matter.

What may make you want an acoustic later, will be for tone or possibly genre. e.g. finger style.

It's easier to play Rock licks and arguably necessary for bends which were composed to be played on an electric originally on an electric, and necessary to reproduce the same or similar tone. Similarly for the acoustic parts of many popular Rock songs to get that acoustic sound in the mix you need an .....acoustic.
