Hi everyone

Nice to meet you all.

My name is Evi. I'm a 28-year-old Swiss woman who loves to sing. I thought it would be nice to be able to accompany my singing on the guitar.

When I was about 11 years old, I took private guitar lessons, but at this time my self-confidence was pretty low. I couldn't cope with playing the guitar and singing at the same time. So after one year I lost motivation and stopped taking guitar lessons.

Last year I decided to give it another try and rented a guitar. I joined GuitarTricks two months ago. Right now I'm working through the Fundamentals. I'm slow, but I enjoy every lesson. I think in these two months, I made higher progress than when I was taking private lessons. As a result, I'm very motivated and therefore want to buy my very own guitar.

So thanks a lot and see you around.

Very cool!! I'm 100% American but I actually grew up in Meggen, Luzern!! Still have many great friends there!! Guitar Tricks is a superior way to go and you'll quickly land on at least 3-5 key instructors as I have that really challenge you and provide phenomenal insight, Evi !!

Hi Evi - It's a pleasure to meet you. I went the opposite way. I played guitar and then decided I should probably sing! It's so common not to be able to play and sing at the same time. I will tell you what happened to me! I was working hard at singing while I played and didn't give up. I was playing a gig with my band in a small club. I was singing and suddenly realized that the connection between my hand and my voice had been broken. I was FREE! It was such a magic moment that I nearly stopped singing! It just simply happened. I will never forget what a great feeling that was! I hope I'll get the chance to hear you play and sing some day.

Tina

Hi Jim. Oh really? I visited Meggen once for a school project. It's a long time ago, but as far as I can remember my project got a good grade, haha.

What a shame, I've never visited those places.

Hello Tina. Thanks for your encouraging words. Last week when I was practising Lisa McCormick's song 'I Believed You' from Fundamentals 1, I think I experienced a similar moment. I'm not sure if my rhythm was correct, but the chord change just happened. I didn't have to think about it, I kind of just knew it. The funny thing is, afterwards when I played around with the Am and E chords, I randomly sang along some silly but catchy lyrics. As a result, I ended up with my very first song.
