But indeed, there are also legal requirements to be met with publishers over copyright that also figure into the overall process. So yes, from start to finish - we are talking several months.

OK........now that you're done laughing..........you forgot to mention the super long time it takes to get GT approval for a song and/or get rights or specific artist study. I'd say your nice Pete Townsend study took close to an entire year to get off the ground and completed. There seems to be more and more care of legal infringement situations along with polling the popularity of setting aside GT assets to complete..........and this takes weeks and months...........
