Hello. I have always wanted to learn to play guitar to be able to play and sing favorite songs on my own and with friends and family. I tried a community college class but it was too rigorous and required more time than I was able to commit to with my work schedule. My guitar sits in my living room as a daily reminder that I WILL do this eventually, so 2019 is the year!

Hi!🙋‍♂️

Welcome to the forum. GT is the ultimate flexible schedule for guitar lessons, so you've come to the right place for the tools to facilitate your goal

Good idea keeping the guitar out where it's impossible to avoid wanting to pick it up. From my experience, I think that's one of the ergonomic keys to constant progress.

Even with wall hangers in our dedicated HT cum my guitar studio and several hard cases for storage and transport, an acoustic and an electric reside semi permanently on floor stands in our family room. Invariably they get picked up impromptu which results in more hands on and every day currency. Four ad hoc 'family room' sessions yesterday. Only intended to pick up for a few minutes each time. What seems like ten minutes in hindsight turns out to be between thirty minutes to an hour every time according to the clock.
