Hello from Syracuse NY. 2 weeks ago I got diagnosed with numerous brain lesions and multiple sclerosis. I'm going to be out of work for awhile, (going through MRI's, spinal tap, etc.) to get to the root of the other lesions on brain. My neurologist recommended keeping my mind active and to learn something new. So, yesterday after holding many guitars I bought a Alvarez Acoustic/Electric and joined guitar tricks today. The journey begins. I have short fingers so I hope I don't get frustrated easily. I realize learning to play any instrument takes hard work, patience, practice, and time. Well, for right now, I have plenty of time until I hear different. Glad to be aboard.

I'm quite a new member as well - joined a few months back. Despite being tall I have very short fingers which I didnt realise until someone pointed out to me quite recently. At the moment I've committed to a regular practice routine and the progress I'm making has made me realise I can get to play well despite what I previously thought was too great a physical disadvantage. Hope this gives you some encouragement - just keep plugging away with your practice and it will all fall into place. Good luck.
