Yamaha makes some nice acoustics, but stick to the solid tops. I bought mine (FG-412S) for $350 CAD, i think, which translates to about $225 Yankee bucks. The "S" at the end of the model name tells you that it's a solid top.

Also, try Simon & Patrick, I've heard many people raving about them, they're supposed to be great value for the money, and they're all solid-tops. Apparently (according to their ads) the guitars sound better the more you play (something to do with vibrations affecting the solid top).

Hey, is your nickname a play on "Sailor Moon"?
... and that's all I have to say about that.

I can't beleive you can get anything worthwhile for 200 bucks. Unless some ladies husband dies leaving behind a Martin that she has no idea of what the value of it was. Actually a friend of mine got a D35 Martin under those very circumstances for a hundred bucks. Ray Flack (famous country picker) got his favourite tele from a pawnshop for two hundred. And another friend of mine got a half decent yamaha acoustic with hardshell case and a tuner for 150.
For the kind of money. So I guess to contradict my initial statement I guess it can be done. It just never happens to me. Paid $2,300 for my D28 Martin and a thousand for my strat.
