Hi from England, 25 miles north of London

Just getting started. I bought myself a leftie Yamaha FG413SL about 14 years ago with a view to learning but didn't get very far at all.

I love music, especially live, and could actually read music when I was 11, but stormed out of a recorder lesson after having a bad one when I was the only boy left in the group and my mates were playing football outside and never went back - worst life decision I ever made, but you don't know it at the time!

Having another go now as I approach 55! Re-strung the guitar, bought a tuner and determined to have another crack and signed up here and working my way through the beginners lessons.

A quick question - do chord charts like the beginners one I got to download from my welcome email come in LH versions or do I just have to get my head round them being the right way for everyone else and just have to live with it?

I bet you could find a downloadable Leftie Guitar Chord chart on the internet.

Then, yes, you would have to translate the materials you get from us here (and most resources, unfortunately) for your own left-handed perspective.

Not fair, but true.

But you're certainly not alone in this!!! Lots of Left-Handers dealing with the exact same challenge.

Have fun - Lisa

Thanks Lisa.

Oh, and I've already experienced the disappearing and re-appearing pick phenomenon!
