Greetings!!!

I'm new to this board, and I'm really glad I found it...You guys are awesome!!!

I have a question on a technique I saw performed by Eddie Van Halen...

What he does is hammer on's....and uses the volume knob to control the tone...however I'm not quite clear how this is done...can anyone explain this to me??? Also, does anyone know where I can find the tab of what he plays, once I figure this out???

Thanks for the infor

X!

I think what you're talking about is the "cathedral" tune. He hammers with his left hand, and his volume knob cuts the attack of the note off. He has a delay set to a quarter note and a half later, which doubles up the notes that are played. And this is the tab http://www.rockmagic.net/guitar-tabs/van_halen/cathedral.tab

He also does the same thing with his volume knob, swelling in the notes w/his pinky on his r. hand
