I'm trying to get the picking direction correct on 'Behind Blue Eyes' Intro (Lesson 3). Is it me, or in the walk-through you play an E on the 4th String for the 5th note, first measure; however, in the play-through it appears you play a B on the 2nd String.

E matches the TAB; B sounds good and is slightly easier from a picking direction.

Hi Dan, that E note on the 4th string is meant to be picked at a lower dynamic (almost like a ghost note) which is why it doesn't really pop out on the playthrough. I am picking it just very lightly, then when I pick the B string next it is back up to normal dynamic.

Indeed the picking direction gets disrupted by backtracking and getting that E note, but it is important because it keeps the timing correct for the arpeggiation.

I suggest using the speed buttons on the right hand side of the video frame to slow down the playthrough and it should make it easier to see and hear.

Let me know how it goes!

Mike
