Hello,

about seven years ago I started to learn to play guitar on 50$ guitar for a year, just to see I am serious about playing guitar and after a year purchased a Big Baby Taylor, the guitar I am still playing on today.

My children have decided on my coming birthday to buy me a new guitar. The budget is about 600$~700$

Preferences in guitars is subjective of course and I will certainly visit some music stores and try several guitars but I also would like to hear your recommendations for a guitar of this budget.

Higher-end Taylor guitars are a bit too expensive for my budget and even if it was not the case, I like the idea of owning two different guitars with different sounds. I know that for this budget there are some Seagull or Takamine.

Thank you very much

Hi there,

For $600-$700, you can get yourself a pretty solid guitar. If you're looking for an acoustic, I highly recommend the Taylor Academy Series.

They're well-made Taylor guitars, no-fuss, just the basics and they're great bang for the buck! Check it out.

I personally play a Breedlove guitar, and they're pretty solid too! https://breedlovemusic.com/acoustic-guitars/dread
