What pick do you use and why?

I actualy tend to use the heaviest I can find, I've started with Tortex 1.14 mm & D'andrea celluloid 1.21 (I love it's warm tone) , then i switched to Dunlop 'Gator Grip' 1.5 mm bec it never slip from my hands , and now I use the 2.0 mm for both tonal & playing reasons.

Does anyone know what picks does satriani and vai use?

I use Dunlap Jazz 3's only....Can't stand using anything else.
I started learning guitar because of Randy Rhoads..but Yngwie J. Malmsteen is my biggest influence.

I use Dunlop Tortex 0.5 mm (red) picks. I find that a light pick allows me to do fast, percussive strumming without dragging the strings half off the guitar. For sharp attack on single notes, I can simulate a thicker pick by pressing the pick a little harder against my index and middle finger with my thumb.

I played with Dunlop's .73 for a while but went to .88 like the sound better on accoustic.

Actually I get the ones that's left at the store :) so it's around that range.
