First part of Mr.Crowley solo - Ozzy osbourne
I used to play this differently but i got the actual tab now. So how do i play this as fast as the recording..as it appears to be impossible. And where should i start.??? By the way i've been playing for a year only.

----10--13~10-------10-------13~10------------
-12B----------12B--------------------12B--------

I've been playing this song for years I could do it in my sleep.

To practice the beginning of this solo to be played effortlessly play it like this:

Bend the 12 fret on the G string 1 whole step, then downpick the 10th fret on the b string and same on the E string (10th fret), then up pick the 10 fret on the B string, downpick the 13th fret on the B string then pulloff to the 10th fret, then repeat the whole process over and over again.

At this point of time don't worry about repeating the sequence only four times....do it over and over again. Make it into an exercise. also play it up and down the neck.

I too remember how hard it was for me when I first learned this solo and created the exercise I just explained.

Keep at it and in no time you'll be playing it effortlessly as well.

IMPORTANT!: Play it over and over and over at a very slow tempo...the speed will come in time. :-)

I started learning guitar because of Randy Rhoads..but Yngwie J. Malmsteen is my biggest influence.

oops...I forgot to mention....It also helps the bar the 10th fret on your E and B strings.

DOH! I meant to say it helps to bar the 10th frets with your 1st finger and use your pinky for the 13th fret.

Whoa... thanx for the lesson but i'm still a little confused. See i'm barring the whole 12B -10 -10 chord and pulling off the 13 fret on the 2nd string and then repeating it but do i play it as a chord or as an arpeggio? I can't play arpeggios that well - i get too much background noise. And secondly is it actually possible to get that fast cause teh rest of teh solo where he does the runs up and down the neck aren't that hard ( the 13 - 10 on the high e string all the way to the low e string etc)

like an arpeggio :-) (Although it won't sound swept)

Practice playing that slow over and over again...when you get that down I'll add to the solo for you. If Your still having trouble (after a week) I'll record that part really slow for you (Both clean and dirty) and at normal Randy speed)
