Music IS a matter of opinion. If you weren't born in the western world and attended GIT, you'd think that a derbouka's solo carried emotions greatly. Or that 12 notes aren't enough to express yourself.
I think that Allan's playing reaches places that we aren't used to go and listen to, and even though we can't really say the first time we listen to it 'wow, that's beautiful', we still are attracted to it because we can hear it power and emotions. But I guess that some will say it sucks, and other think that it's totally dissonant. Matter of opinion, not fact.
If facts ruled the world, 'Guitar world' wouldn't put Meredith Brooks on its cover, and Hendrix every other issue (because he's dead, that's a FACT).
