There are actualy hundreds or may be thousands of Guitar string makers , but i recomend you should try well known names that have a cool list of endorses , you should check out what strings your fav guitarist use and also the guage of the strings is very important and affects your tone and playing directly..

But you'll waste a long time searching for this, so I'll make a short list for you, and hope it helps ..

-Slash : 'Ernie Ball' Strings , very heavy guage as I remember it was (0.011-0.052)
-Kirk Hammett : 'Dean Markley'Strings , (.010-?) i dont remember wether the low E was 0.048 or 0.052
-James Hetfield: 'Ernie Ball' Strings , (0.010-?) not sure of the low E guage
-Dave Mustain : "D'addario" Strings, (0.010-?) not sure
-Marty Friedman: "D'addario" Strings, (0.010-?) not sure
-Ynwie Malmsteen: 'Fender' Strings , (0.008-?) he use a custom collection of light guage for treble strings and heavier guage for the bass strings.

I use D'addario Strings for my self with Regular Guage (0.010-0.046)
and i realy like their sound & i can do 8 fretts bend with them, but if you're not comfortable with the guage you should try the (0.009-0.042) for easier bending

Choose a guitarist that you like, find out
what strings he use, buy them.
Or buy som other strings.
Or buy D'addario, I use them and they're alright.

Personally, I like to use GHS Boomers (the red package) for electric (9-42, but I want to switch to 10-whatever).

For acoustic, I prefer Elixirs, (11-53, i think). They have a nice warm sound that lasts for a really long time. Although they aren't really bright, most strings that sound nice and bright fade after a couple of intense strum sessions, whereas Elixirs maintain their tone for months (at least for me they do).

One type of string I want to try is flatwound... I bought a pack, but I had just restrung my guitar.... I can't wait to try them!
... and that's all I have to say about that.

I use Ernie Ball strings. The heavy gauges are very good, not sure bout the lighter ones never used 'em. N can I just point out Slash uses 11-48, not 52. I did use the 52 by accident once n they were way heavy. They are the kinda strings you need to detune your guitar to make it sound like a 7 string.
