Hi, new member here. I’m David Williams and I’m located in Birmingham, Alabama. I retired a few years ago (currently 68 years old) and one of the things I wanted to do when I retired was to learn guitar. I played around with an old acoustical guitar my wife took to summer camp MANY years ago and using another popular online course, but just wasn’t feeling it. So I bought a MIM Stratocaster, joined Guitar Tricks and I’m really enjoying myself now. I’m really excited about learning to play and just need to convince my left hand fingers that they need to get with the program. I’ll get there; just need to practice.

Hi, David. I am 68 as well, but still have a year or 2 left to work. I live in the Atlanta area. I am going to try and get a new Player Strat this week. Probably why I am still working ;)

I play in a community band (percussion) and a lot of our members are in their 70s and some in their 80s. Until recently we had a Director Emeritus that was in his 90s. I think that music helps keep us mentally alert, physically able and helps with a good attitude.

Kudos for doing music, it is what makes life worth living.

Peace,

Myst
