I CAN'T GET INTO THE ZONE TODAY

You know when your playing guitar, and you sort of get into "the zone". Well, I can't get into it day... so it would be greatly appreciated if you could post some of your ways to get into "the zone".

I sit and play, and dont think about anything except the music Im playing, which eventually becomes like a reflex, so Im really detached and practicing at real high speeds.

sit down and DONT THINK....let yourself fly around on the board and youll sink into boxes,patterns and melodies.....oh my

p.s play notes in random patterns and leave your "style" behind for a practice....youll be amazed at what you produce as far as sound goes.....its not really you cant get into the zone......it might be the zone has gotten old and familiar.....i know mine has

Sometimes when I do that I surprise myself, like "Wow, thats a neat little riff!" or "I didn't know I could play that fast!"

What sometimes works for me is a simple change (A bar chord to D bar chord) in loose style till i hit a funk/reggae grove thing and that's kind of zoned,sometimes I can take this on to the usual thing played,otherwise I do what the other guys say..
