My parents are baby boomers and lived through that amazing moment in music history that were the 60's through 80's, slightly more on the rock side of things than the hippy side.

This greatly influenced me from early childhood. Heck, I fell in love with Alice Cooper at first sight when I was four years old... after seeing TV footage of him getting beheaded by a guillotine live on stage. What a guy.

My brother ran around his Kindergarten singing "Smoke on the Water" and other classics at the top of his lungs, which sparked some comments from the teachers. He got a full drum set and I got a piano. Music was an integral part of my life.

Then the teenage years happened and I lost sight of it all, quit my piano lessons and wasn't myself for a long time, until I finally settled down and found my way back to who I really am - though now I am just a passive consumer of music and I don't like it.

Unversity, work and life all got in the way between me and playing music actively, but now it's time to remedy that!!

With the amount of moving around between Germany and Japan that I do, a piano is not the best option, and as I loooove classic rock, an electric guitar was the obvious choice.

So now, aged 31, I finally bought my first guitar (Les Paul - not a Gibson though xD) last Saturday and proceeded to teach myself the basic chords, but I am so so glad I came across this brilliant website to help me learn it all correctly from scratch. Lisa McCormick is just lovely and I enjoy her lessons a lot, even though I am not a total beginner when it comes to musical terms and the anatomy of guitars, I found her lessons fun and interesting. I'm so excited to try my hand at all different kinds of styles, but I'm really looking forward to diving right in and to finally realising my dream and getting back to my true self as a rock chick!

Thank you so much, everyone! ^^

Kachina is the name of my guitar - named after Alice Cooper's first snake. ;)

Storm is my actual family name though, hehe.
