So I'm 31 closer to 32. The only music I ever really did was a little messing around on my brothers Bass in high school and I was a mean recorder player in 5th grade. But I can't read music. Bought my first guitar (Fender FA125) Accoustic today and I'm looking forward to shredding with you folks going forward.
My brother that's about to finish high school is an amazing guitar player. All-state band as a Sophmore, Jr, and Sr. (in his state it's nearly always Seniors only) and he's going to college for it starting next year so I'm hoping he'll be able to supplement my noobness when I go see him this summer.
I usually listen to punk (like Rancis, The Clash, Dead Kennedy's) but I want to learn to play Folk as well as Rock. (really anything I like the sound of music)
I'm evaluating here and yousician but I feel there's just way higher quality here. Yousician feels more like a guitar hero game honestly.
Open to any suggestions and tips people have picked up over the years.
I spent time in the Army as a Military Policeman (and eventually investigator) then I got out and did some work as a Salesforce consultant before taking some time off being an adult and going to jeweler school for a side business type thing. I'm now a software developer that does freelance work while being a stay at home dad to a wonderfully annoying 3 year old wild child....errr I mean daughter.
