I'm 47 and I'm starting to learn myself right from scratch!
I think learning later in life is actually a great time to learn something new. I have to say, I am really enjoying the process. There is a lot of positive progress, but also challenges. I find at my age, I'm a little more even keeled with that, and more self aware of not getting too frustrated. Again, I'm at a point where I'm just enjoying the process and the progression (no rush, no high expectations).
I'm also finding learning guitar has benefits on a couple of fronts. It's a great stress reliever, just to play and focus on nothing else. It's also a new hobby to keep my mind learning something new and to develop a new type of hand-eye coordination.
Just my thoughts...and good luck to all of you who are starting a little later in life!
