Hi. This is a bit of a dilemma for me and I hope someone can come up with a solution. I have been playing for about six months now and built up my fingertip calluses quite well. However last week at my workplace I needed to wear rubber gloves outside as personal protective equipment. It was hot weather (over 30C temperature) and I had to wear them for over 5 hours. I found that my hard earned finger tip calluses softened so much from the heat (and sweat - gross I know). Now I have sore fingertips again and plumped up calluses. Swabbing them with isopropyl alcohol to help dry them out again isn't helping much.

Hey there,

I've had this happen before, and I'm sure a lot of old and new guitarists have experienced this at least once. There's not much you can do about it except just play and practice enough so that your fingers are tough again.

That's the cost of being human, my friend.

Best,

Billy
