I am not getting perfection with every lesson, but pretty good. My successful actions have been:

1) Keeping the guitar in perfection tune because I can tell when a finger is in the wrong place, etc. increasingly more easy just by the sound.

2) I often "practice" for 2 or 3 hours a day while watching a game or something on TV, etc. I work on all of the Essential chords and switching between them quicker and just making up melodies that sound cool, or printing the notations and looking them. When someone else is around I strum with my thumb instead of the pick it won't be too loud.
