First post and brand new guitar player wo just completed Fundamentals 1. I am learning some Begineer Songs made easy and so started with Sweet Home Alabama (easy strum pattern), then Simple Man (more difficult, but eventually got it) and now working on Proud Mary. I had to put Caren on half-speed just to scratch out the pattern.

So my head is still struggling around the intro strum pattern. I wanted to pull of the Tab Notation to see the chord changes and where the strum pattern (Up/Downs) would be awesome. I don't see where any strum notation is.

Ideally, it would be very nice to see all the TAB notoation and lyrics together. If I learn the words and the chords and strum notation all at the same time, that would be a good way to practive and feel the next chord changes. Might as well learn the words to complete the lesson

Can anyone help? 1.) Tab Notation with Strum and better 2.) Tab Notation with strum and lyrics?

Thanks.

Hi adambroderick,

On every one of our lesson pages, you'll notice a green bar at the top. You can click there to get to the new lessons page. The new page puts the notation side by side with the video itself you can see. Some (not all) song lessons will have automatic notation scrolling so that the notation moves as the song plays. Check out the new lesson page above each video by clicking the message in green.

As far as strum patterns go, our notation does not currently include it, but that's a pretty good idea! I'll pass it along.

Thanks for the feedback, and I hope this helps.

The feature with the notation and the video side by side is a really cool new touch. I think it would be helpful to advertise it a bit more, since I think a lot of people will not notice the banner at the top of the page at first. I also feel like many players would benefit from the strumming notation, as it is definitely one of the main hurdles when starting out. It would be awesome if you guys could add that.
