Shout out to my favorite instructor Lisa McCormick. I've been practicing every day at least a half an hour and am forming calluses! This is so much fun, but challenging. Seems like I learn something new every day and I think I sound a little better every day too.
I Love Guitar Tricks
Hi miashank,
We're so glad you're having a great time learning. Remember, if you scroll down towards the bottom of the forums, you'll find Lisa's forum and you can leave her a message if you'd like!
I am 62 have short stubby fingers and a brand new Yamaha steel string accustic.
Started cource two days ago and love starting from Zero. I probably has not gained zero yet.
But I train 20 min a day, before body start killing me, but I have strong will and one day I will play a couple of songs.
I just write to encurage other older folks, yes it go slow, and some of us dont have long slender fingers, and no voice either.
I would call myself musically dyslectic, have failed on many instruments before.
But thanks to daughter and a ukulele, I realized «I can do this», and yes your program go in a speed I love and I resee things.
Thanks a lot.
Warm regards from Borge in Stavanger in Norway
Right now, I play the Spanish guitar and I'm somewhat moderate in perusing the notes, getting the rhythm right and getting my hands in the correct spots, including the correct fret and string. promotional video. I require any exhortation you can consider to enable me to enhance in any capacity, I'm very frantic.
This is all so great!
I love that music just waits patiently for us to come to a point in our lives (or more than one point), where we feel it it *time* to give it a go.
I am so honored to be a part of the team that helps you started and making music!
Sorry about the sore fingers factor - that just comes with the territory, but it will clear up as you keep at it.
Have fun!
Love, Lisa

Seconded with a 'two thumbs up' for for Guitar Tricks.
For my money, a subscription was pretty much a no brainer. To anyone hesitant who can self-identify as serious about wanting to learn or continue advancing their skills with guitar, I'd suggest it a must.
The notable energy, enthusiasm and tuition presented in a down to earth and considerate manner by the ensemble of knowledgable instructors here is particularly commendable.
Although an early adopter of computers and the progression to online everything myself, there was simply nothing like this 'back in the day'. If only! Today, learning guitar has never been easier nor tuition so readily accessible and affordable to all who really want to do it.
There were no hand holding school music programs back in my 1960s & '70s. Closest analogy was a military cadet, organisation like the Salvation Army or school (brass) band. For other than the luckier few mentored by a professional musical parent, friend or sibling, learning guitar basics usually meant being shown a few chords by a marginally more skilled peer unless paid by the hour music tuition with an individual tutor was within one's means. The closest thing to Guitar Tricks affordablity was resorting to self-taught from a book with the prerequisite temperament for persistance and motivation that required.
To have instructors the quality of Lisa, Christopher, Anders, Dave, Mike et al at my personal 'beck and call' 24/7 simply by logging into GT on an Android device or a PC is manna from heaven.
