I'm a 46 yr old software developer currently living in Mass. Been playing guitar off and on for a couple of years now. Have two small children, 3 1/2 and 4mos... so I don't have a lot of time or money for an instructor. (Diapers ain't cheap ;) ) So I've been doing mostly online stuff and Rocksmith 2014 on my PC. This past year I came across Tony's Acoustic Challenge which is a great site. I get his idea of practice these little bits for 10 minutes a day and eventually it will start clicking. And I did make progress doing his lessons. However, I know myself well enough to know that I tend to do better with a more "structured" approach, so that brought me here. Actually found the site searching for reviews on Fender's Play site and they all mentioned Guitar Tricks as the place to go. So here I am!

I've been playing music most of my life so my musical tastes tend to be all over the place. Currently I'd say my guitar leanings were Blues and Metal. At least from what I'd like to get exposure to while learning. So hopefully Guitar Tricks will get me there! :-)

Look forward to checking out the site and getting involved with the community!

Hi Lane!

Honestly, I'm a big fan of Rocksmith, it's a great way to learn while also playing a video game. but of course, it can only teach you so much! We believe Guitar Tricks is the best place to learn and play guitar.

It's great to hear about all of your experience, and we're glad to have you part of this awesome community. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Best,

Billy
