In general the most efficient way to overcome a physical technique problem is to focus on the motion that gives you trouble & drill only that motion.

So, pick two chords (like in your example) & just play those chords back & forth. Don't add a strumming pattern, don't waste time, effort or motion doing anything else.

Form E5, play once.

Move to form G5, play once.

Repeat ad infinitum! :)

That way you can train your mind & fingers to do those motions & focus on refining micro placement of fingers for fretting & muting as you are working it.
