Hi everyone.

After trying countless online courses I am trying this one, which I've been told is the best.

Firstly ive been seriously playing guitar for about five years now but have ground to a halt with all the different methods of teaching. Know all the open chords, strumming techniques, done some scales, know a little theory and techniques and speed is not my best forte.

As the title says where do I begin. Confidence is also something I lack.

Please could you help a confused 50 year old who wants to learn guitar proper

Thanks guys

Bob

hi bobwatt1967,

Since you've been playing for about five years, you definitely have some experience, and certainly a bit more hands-on experience than the fresh beginner. I would say you might want to start on Guitar Fundamentals II, which you can get to here: https://www.guitartricks.com/course.php?input=fundamentals2

If you find some of the tutorials too easy, you can always skip them. I would say that if you're able to play a couple of chords, then you might want to check out learning songs. We have a great selection of song lessons that are simple and fun to play right here:https://www.guitartricks.com/songs.php?input=beginners

Remember, learning guitar is all about having fun. And it's important to play what you want to play and learn what you want to learn. For me, I really wanted to play Beatles songs, and that's what I learned, and from learning those songs, I learned a bunch of little techniques and chords that I use in other songs.

I hope that helps, and I'm looking forward to hearing from you again.

Best,

Billy
