Strumming for A minor

i have seen the strumming for A minor shown as the bottom 3 strings on guitar tricks and bottom 5 other places. I'm completely new to learning the guitar so want to understand the difference

I'm not really sure what's the question. Or are you having troubles the Am Chord?

The open A minor chord is played with only three notes, that is for sure. The other ways to play an A minor do require using more fingers, for example, if you take a look at "Variation 2" on the A minor chord in our Chord finder app here:https://www.guitartricks.com/chordfinder.php
