Any advice out there on recommended neck shape and size for small/medium hands?
Depends on the maker and model. For instance, Gibson Les Paul's. There is the traditionals 50's profile or the 60's slim taper. The 50's is a thicker neck. It has it's advantages but for overall playablity for me, 60's slim taper. But, it's not the Ibanez JEM slim...But given my hands, and I would descibe them as similar to yours, I don't overly enjoy the JEM slim. I don't hate it but I like a little something to grip on to.
So, you get the deal. It does depend on the actual model. Feel....which is to say, ya gotta play to know.
