Study up...search GT and the web. There are 'accepted' ways to hold a guitar, but no 'one' way. I use a modified classical position myself as it helps me with my large dreadnaught acoustic. A benefit is that should I stand and play the guitar is in the same position as when I sit and practice. Your issue might simply be strap adjustment. Check out Lisa's and Chris's videos.

Guitar position and posture is important...something I learned way too late.

Have fun!

"It takes a lot of devotion and work, or maybe I should say play, because if you love it, that's what it amounts to. I haven't found any shortcuts, and I've been looking for a long time."
