Hey dude, I´m even older and I´ve just started as well :) Damn good site isn´t it? I´ve been in a few bands in my teenage/twen days, on a semi professional level, releasing a few records, touring...but I was either a singer or drummer in these bands and I haven´t really played music for about 10 years now. Back then I only played a few chords here and there on the guitar. I always wanted to learn playing this instrument but well...I never did. I find this site very motivating and well structured. My life is busy too at the moment with family/kids, work and some other hobbies but sitting down with my guitar and going through these lessons is pure joy. Like you said, it really shuts you off from the reality (in a good way) and makes you focus...and the best part is that you really learn some valuable stuff. I´m from germany too by the way. Keep it up man.
