Hello All, so far its an amazing journey with GuitarTricks. Its been almost 15days to be a part of this amazing guitar hacking world haha. I always wonder whether to get a smooth classical guitar tone its necessary to get a classical guitar or can i make it on my Martin Dx1rae. I always want to know this tone making using guitar processor.

Classical guitars are typically strung with nylon strings. They are softer & more pliable. As a result the sound is softer, warmer & rounder. Normal acoustic guitars like the Martin you describe are typically strung with steel strings (some alloy of steel & nickel or bronze). That's why they produce a louder, brighter, sharper tone.

I detail the characteristic of classical guitar nylon strings here.

So, you can play classical guitar pieces on a steel string acoustic. But the only way to get the sound of a nylon string guitar is to use nylon strings.

I'm not aware of any effects processors that mimic the sound of a nylon string guitar.

Hope this helps!
