I decided recently that i would like to pick up and learn a guitar. I did a little reading and went to a local instrument store. I had some amazing demostrations by the people there and even sat and held a few to see how these felt for size.

I opted for this after a few sound trials with Dreadnaughts and Jumbo's.[br]AJ-220 SCE

I also like this though, so come Christmas this will be added for an additional musical instrument to go and enjoy.[br]Redwood RS-1

I like most styles of guitar music, least of these being Jazz and Country but I will still have a go when the time comes i think. I'm not totally new to Instruments as I've played a few over the years from, Piano, Bell Lyre and a Violin to name a few.

I look forward to chatting to everyone over the comming months when I finally start as I'm still looking for books to build a variety of things to learn without repetition.

Regards to one and all.

Rachel.

Hi Rachel!

Welcome. I'm new here myself. I know it says I joined a few years back but I actually subscribed last week. I also have a background in other instruments but wanted to learn guitar. I could strum a little and know a handful of chords but I want to be so much more than that. I started from the very beginning on here. Even though I already knew alot of the stuff already I still did pick up some valuable things. I'm loving this site. It makes learning easy and fun. Great choice by the way on your Epiphone. It sounds and looks really good. Bet you're excited! Best of luck to you on your learning and hope you enjoy the site as much as I do. :)

Welcome also. That Redwood sure looks like a Fender Stratocaster. Lovely.

Welcome Rachel. For my bucks I have the Yamaha FGX 800 C and its an excellent acoustic electric for around 250.00 at Guitar Center in usa. That epi looks good also. As a beginner, just make sure that you pay a luthier to do a set up for you. Often new guitars come with the action too high, and if you are a beginner it helps to start with a low action and also try light strings. I have DaDarrio 11 52 gauge Custom Lights on my Yamaha, and its great. Welcome to GC.
