I am learning a version of Crazy by Patsy Cline, and I have a question about a chord shown on the chord chart. The chord chart shows an Eb Major 7th as an Eb where you lift the middle finger on the G. I play it a little different and wonder if its the same chord? I barre the 6th fret, my middle finger is on the G 7th fret, and my ring and pinky are on the 8th fret on D and B strings. Is it an Ebmajor 7th or what is it? It sounds like an e flat major 7th. This is a complicated song because its all Barre Chords but I am having a ball playing it. Can anyone identify? Need to know because this is a part of the intro sequence of the song where its Bb, Eb, then Ebmajor 7th and then a walk down to Dmin, Cmin, Bb, Cmin, Fmaj, Bb, Fmaj. Thanks for anyone's help.

Great song! Anders teaches a great authentic version here at GT.

[p]What you are describing is indeed a way to play an E-flat major 7 chord. Like this.

[br]|--------------------------------------------|[br]|--8-----------------------------------------|[br]|--7-----------------------------------------|[br]|--8-----------------------------------------|[br]|--6-----------------------------------------|[br]|--------------------------------------------|

However, the intro of the song actually uses an E-flat 7 (meaning an E-flat 7 dominant) chord. So, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that the chord chart you have indicates to play that E-flat 7 like this.

|--------------------------------------------|[br]|--8-----------------------------------------|[br]|--6-----------------------------------------|[br]|--8-----------------------------------------|[br]|--6-----------------------------------------|[br]|--------------------------------------------|

And that is actually the right chord to use on the intro of the song. Because it's not an E-flat major 7, but an E-flat 7. Small difference, but noticable. :)

Also, Anders actually shows that series of chords as shell voicings after the intial B-flat 7 chord. Like this.

|--6------------------------------------------|[br]|--6---6--7--8--9--10--11----------------|[br]|--7---7--8--9--10-11--12---------------|[br]|--6---6--7--8--9--10--11----------------|[br]|--8------------------------------------------|[br]|--6------------------------------------------|

Hope this helps! Have fun with that great tune. :)

Thanks Chris. I was wondering. It sounds great and not so great if you play what the chord finder shows as an Eb major 7th. Now the hard part for me is practice practice practice because the chord change is giving me grief for right now.. maybe by sunday I'll have it. Will also check out Anders version although the version I found was on Youtube by Mahalo.
