For those of you that have worked on Fundamentals 2, or even for new people that want to try power chords, here is a great song to use and have fun practicing power chords. You Really Got Me by the Kinks. Here are the chords. It's very easy but its also fun and you will build up speed playing it. First line is F GG F G, next line is G AA G A , and the last line is dropping down a string for C DD C D. Try it and let me know what you think. Thanks

That was cool. thanks. I am in Fundies 2 and just went through power chords so thats a great idea. It would be cool to take that idea further as perhaps a bonus lesson with a bunch of popular short power chord riffs / magic L etc.. and we listen to them. Then we have to figure out ourselves. I was in middle of that lesson going, hey this must be that riff from American Woman by Guess Who .. sure enough, I found the magic L for it.

That would be cool. Listen to few & then discover the power chords ourselves by ear and what we've just learned. as a thought.

Cheers, Dave

I use the opening riff to "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" by Yes to help mix things up and get a better understandings of power chords. Try A BC D then A BC DD GG.
