I currently play a Martin GPCPA4 Shaded and I played some Taylors when I was deciding to buy. As already mentioned, it's a matter of your personal taste. I wouldn't worry about long term value. Both are very nice guitars with different characters. Buy the one that has your tonal preference and comfort with playability and you won't be disappointed. Good luck!
