What it is fellow guitarists. Back in my college days in the sixties I played coffee house venues and the bar scene. Folk music was the rage and I did my thing on a Gibson J45. A sweet little guitar by the way. Wish I still had it. When I got out of the Marine Corps (1972) my family was well into stringed instrument bluegrass music. Dad was a fiddle player, my brothers played guitar, uncles and aunts played mandolin, banjo and dog house base. Not to be left behind, I bought a cheap banjo and started teaching myself to play. Played the banjo and guitar for the next 35 years. Most of my people have passed on and I miss those family get togethers and the music we so much enjoyed. So, now I am wanting to learn some basic rock and blues and this site seems to be a good starting place. I have enjoyed the lessons here but wish they would offer more downloadable tabs or TEF files.
Glad to be part of the group. Rock on!
