I've been playin guitar now for a couple of months. And i can play all sorts of intro's and easy songs, but when it comes to playing the harder stuff, or rhythm parts it seems my fingers just aren't cutting it. Is there any way i can get my hands stronger and WAY more flexible?

get one of those finger excercise things or a stress ball.
another excercise i like is where you make your hand in a fist, palm up. then you roll out your index and middle fingers. then roll them back in and while theyr coming in roll out you ring and pinky. then keep going back and forth like that. its even harder when you roll out your index and ring, then your middle and pinky. it gets tiring pretty fast.

Hey, taylor,
I just ytried that exercise- managed to do it a couple of times and it was already getting difficult.

I've used dexterity putty before - thats quite good.

But it does come with practice.

I'd been playing for a while and then I tried to reach the E/G# chord (422100) and wasn't even close. Now, my pinky can stretch further and it's no problem.

It's a bit of a no pain, no gain situation tho!

hahahah...it seems that everytime i play i get a little more flexible..and if i can't play something one night i can play it by the next day. Maybe i should look into steroids tho, and play like Yngwie :P .
But thanks for all the awesome exercises

eh..forget all them ballsqueezin exercises n just play scales n finger exercises on the guitar,. time spent on guitar makes yer fingers good for guitar..time spent on other stuff is time ya could be workin on guitar..if ya practice n do exercises n scales for a couple hours everyday you'll see results every day

i'd suggest working on the dex when you have a guitar in front of you, if you know what i mean, and when your at work/school/ whatever, just use a ball or one of those other dex things they have. that way, its double the excersize for those fings.
