I say play the Tele now. No reason to keep under wraps. Play a great guitar when you have it. I started with a Gibby Les Paul and it was a great guitar to learn on.

.....and for the record, when you're up to speed on your playing and you start writing songs, should you choose to do so, 'Learn Before I Die' is a great song subject...Think about all those kinda life lesson stories you could pack in there.
