Any good recommendations for a low-watt tube amp? Preferably $500 or less. I want an amp where I can get good tube amp tone but can play at a reasonable volume since most of my playing is recreation and at home around people who don't want to hear it.

My main guitar that I am plugging into it is a Mexican Fender Strat.

I've looked at Vox, Marshall, Blackstar. I liked them but just curious if anyone has an amp that fits the bill that they love and would like to tell me about it.

Hi Jeff,

I've got a Mexican Fender Strat and I use a Vox AC15. It's about 13 years old now and is a great sounding amp. I use mine at home and as long as your not playing late into the night I find it suitable! (You do have to have a bit of volume to get the best sound!)

Not sure what changes/improvements there have been in the range since I bought mine but would defo recommend it.

Cheers

Jon

The Vox AC15 is a bit on the high end of my price range but I agree that it is a great amp. I love the way the amp sounds just barely broken up.
