If you are already beyond all that, then I encourage you to try Country Style 1 or 2! Anders does a great job of explaining the style from the ground up. And he includes several tutorials on walking bass lines & solos with lots of examples & play along tracks.

It sounds like you need to work on single note picking. These tutorials are aimed specifically at alternating between single note picking & chord strumming in a way that helps you connect the chords.
