One word of caution. Gibson necks feel very different than Fender necks. You will probably favor one or the other. I have tried to like Gibson necks but my fingers like Fender.

If you like the SG (Gibson), I would look within the Gibson/Epiphone family or do a lot of trials with the Fender before buying it.
