Hello all.

I am 42 years old, never played any instrument in my life and I just got a electric guitar and amp given to me, so why not try it. I signed up 3 days ago and I find Lisa McCormick's lesson to be fabulous. I am practicing 6-8 hours a day because I can't put this damn thing down. I just recently worked up to my 5 power cords lesson and currently working on switching from Em to Am and well this is tricky!

I find it easier when playing Em to use my ring finger on string 5 instead of pinky (I do not need to pivot/move middle finger on 4th string at all)

Will this cause problems down the road when learning/switching to other cords?

I hope I am not advancing too fast as well and I unsure how long I should be spending and practicing on each lesson. Any advice or tips would be great.
