Hi Everyone.

This is Victory. I have been away because I was tending to my child, who was very ill. In fact, she passed from this world into the realm I call, "The Kingdom of Heaven' last year in March. I cared for her during the last years of her life; therefore, I have been away for quite a while. And, I stayed away because I have been struggling. I have almost stopped singing (although my family is trying hard to keep me in that loop- because my voice is my main instrument), mostly because I don't much feel like it anymore; but I am hoping that if I get back into playing the guitar, and playing properly in fact, well...I am hoping to stay. Although... to be honest, I have some tough to handle days, when nothing much gets done, or, in the effort to find a place of comfort, I move from one project to another, something I have never done before (perhaps), something that will keep me concentrating on the 'task at hand' rather than circumstances; and, as a result, I am not fully (yet) myself (if that will ever really happen to a genuine extent)...

Anyway.. I just wanted to say, 'hi', in order to maybe, 'solidify this decision'. And... because I hope to stay long enough and strong enough in this effort to actually accomplish what I had hoped to accomplish in the past when I was a member of this site. That is: to really learn how to play, not just by ear, which is what I did as a younger person, but 'really' play. She would want me to do it. We'll see...

Blessings to you all.

In 2012 I worked on a CD in Italian (my heritage language). I was blessed to have the opportunity to have five original songs on the CD. Four of the five had guitar accompaniments. Guitar is my instrument of choice and I truly do believe that healing will bind with the music I long to create when I begin playing again... only this time, with the added pleasure and support of a mind that understands what is needed to embellish the sounds my voice has the ability to make, undergirding, harmonizing, beautifying and enhancing.

Thank you all Administrators for your kind words of support. I believe my daughter is dancing and I am hopeful to be inspired back to the place where (if she is listening) her steps are quickened, her heart is enthused.

I will definitely ask, if any questions come to mind. For now, I need to get to work.

:)

P.S.

If you would care to hear snippets of my originals, they can be found at http://vittoriatrichilo.com/music/ . All five are highlighted there including 'Muoio' meaning, "I Die" and "Mi Ciangi U Cori", "My Heart Weeps" a little folk song I wrote in my father's dialectic style.

The website is currently under construction as one of my children is making every effort (if pressure can be called that) to awaken my zest for that which I have always revelled in: life... and this idea to resurrect my ability to play guitar in a decent manner will certainly lend into the success if I truly follow through. Again, thank you one and all!

Oh, and in case it is not obvious, the guitar player in my original songs is a professional artist friend.

Yes. As I said voice is my main instrument. I've been singing since I was three. Guitar is my instrument of choice after vocals, because I picked it up when I was nine (my father bought my sister a Spanish Guitar, but she never played) and I began playing Ukulele Chords the music teacher at school was teaching kids with Ukes. I didn't have one, but at home I tried the same chords on the guitar and so began my adventure trying to write songs.

My father was a songwriter. So was my daughter. Once I began writing songs for school projects I was hooked. The principle at the school I went to (grade 7/8) kept asking me to play. At the time all I knew was, "House of The Rising Sun" and "Green Green Grass of Home".

Problem is, I never ventured passed the familiar chords and by the time I was twenty-five all the songs I strummed on the guitar sounded the same (to me) except one incredible Italian song that I never really could recall later on.

Anyway... I tried taking piano lessons. Pianos don't like me much. Playing one feels like work. Playing guitar never felt like work. That is why I'm here again. You see, at twenty-five when I put the guitar down because all the sounds I was creating seemed monochromatic (so to speak) I never picked it back up and I've lost the little I did have. Except for writing songs, which I have done all my living days, I have lost the ability to have agility on the guitar. Not that I was ever a great player, but I totally enjoyed the little I knew/could play.

This time, if all goes well, I'd like to really play. I am believing the task possible. I am believing this will happen. ... because 'yes' music is healing. ...and God gave me a love of music.

Thanks for listening.
