So i decided to listen to some jazz but i don't know where to start from. Tell me some jazz guitarists that, how to say, are the essense of the jazz guitar. Tell me also some more experimental giutar players that go beyond the standart stuff.
Thanks
The world is loaded, it's lit to pop, nobody is gonna stop!
if you are into the traditional jazz style, wes mongomery should be the artist to start from. as for experimental and jazz fusion, try frank gambale, scot henderson, pat metheny, and john scofield. if you want jazz guitar pushed to the edge, shawn lane. maybe try listening to tuck andres too for some finger-stylin jazz..... happy listening!

There's a lot of jazz artists that have great websites with audio, video, and sometimes lessons printed on there page. Check out http://www.jimmybruno.com , probably one of the best bebop guitar players living today. Pat Martino also has a great site. These sites will often have links to other musicians sites that they respect. Happy hunting.
