Jam tracks are just for playing a long with. They're usually a rhythm-heavy recording that you can use to improvise your own lead material.

Doesn't help, what about lessons on playing with various jam tracks that are preloaded. Surely someone has some ideas on what to play over them.

The jam track has the key listed.. you can go select the scale tool and find the scale that is listed. See the notes in that scale and that will give you what will fit with the track..
